Located at 260 E Park Ave, this cozy diner invites locals and visitors alike to indulge in a diverse menu that celebrates hearty breakfasts, savory lunches, and irresistible shakes, all served in an inviting and laid-back atmosphere.

The menu at Diner By The Sea is a true treasure trove for anyone seeking satisfying flavors and nostalgic dishes with a contemporary flair. Start your morning with their standout Tie Dye Pancakes, a whimsical, colorful take on the traditional stack that’s as fun to eat as it is to look at. Their Corned Beef Hash offers a perfectly balanced savory bite that’s crispy on the edges and tender inside, ideal for fueling a busy day. For sandwich lovers, the Egg Sandwich with Cheese and Chicken Gyro combines rich, melty cheese and spiced gyro meat for a heavenly fusion of textures and tastes.

If you have a sweet tooth, the birthday cake-inspired milkshakes and the iconic Rainbow Shake are must-tries—creamy, indulgent, and vividly colorful, these shakes bring a sense of celebration to every sip. For a more traditional touch, the Chocolate Milkshake and Root Beer Float are classic beverages that echo the friendly old-school charm of this diner.

The breadth of the menu is impressive, including fresh and varied options like the crisp Greek Salad, the hearty Chopped Sirloin Steak with Onion Rings, and the irresistible Patty Melt. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly meals such as Mac and Cheese with Chicken Nuggets and Kids Grilled Cheese and Fries, ensuring everyone leaves satisfied.

The bread and bagels selection is equally decadent—whether you prefer the generous Bagel All The Way with Nova Lox or a buttery croissant, the offerings are designed to elevate your meal to the next level. Not to be overlooked, the hand-crafted paninis, like the Chicken Gyro with spinach and feta or the Veggie Burger with grilled onions and Swiss cheese, bring sophisticated flavors in every bite, priced reasonably for the quality and freshness served.

What truly sets Diner By The Sea apart, however, is the warm, welcoming environment paired with exceptional service. As regular John S points out, the staff are consistently friendly and efficient, creating a community feel that rivals any larger diner nearby but with a more personable touch. Customer Jules highlights the owner's vibrant personality, noting the “homey and cute” vibe that makes dining here feel more like visiting a friend than just grabbing a meal.

Gary Harford appreciates the diner’s large menu and “good coffee,” with special mention of the milkshakes that look simply irresistible, while Marc applauds the reasonable prices and casual atmosphere, perfect for enjoying their savory patties and indulgent shakes. This convergence of great food, approachable prices, and genuine hospitality makes Diner By The Sea a beloved culinary destination in Long Beach.

There is another diner in Long Beach that gets lots of attention but for so many of us locals we know that the best diner here is this one. Yes, it’s a little bit smaller than that other one but guess what? So are the prices. I find that the menu items are anywhere from $2-5 cheaper. Besides that, the wait staff is ALWAYS friendly and your order will be served quickly. Lastly the manager Caterina always makes my day with her sweet smile and charm. Highly recommended!

Classic diner with large menu, good coffee and tasty food. Milkshakes look amazing (albeit I didn’t have one) and the breakfast foods were great

Good, reasonable diner. Very casual. Burgers were good, especially the patty melt. Milkshake was a nice treat. They have many flavors and options. One of the best options in this area.
